G'day,

I got this from HF this morning and figger'd I'd share it with you guys. I
haven't bought one . . . . yet! ;-)

Do you reckon it might come in handy for GMC's?

Once again to save the naysayers time "All Harbor Freight tools are crap."

I just looked at the writeup. I like the idea. Price is right but I see one draw back. It only has a 5" blade and the blade max depth is 1 and 3/16". That is not deep enough to cut a 2x4.

There are 3 reviews on their site. Two are unfavorable. You might want to wait a while and see what additional reviews say. One year warranty.

Ken,

Didn't think to check the reviews or download the manual. I did both and
read the manual. It says that you have to lubricate the blades if you cut
metal. Since one guy said it works great doing so but the other one says it
didn't I wonder if the latter lubricated the blades as per the manual or
not.

Since I won't be back in the USA for awhile I'll keep an eye on the reviews.

Thanks,

It's pretty 'standard issue' to lube carbide blades when cutting metals - no biggy. You can use just about anything. Had a friend who build sailboat masts and would buy WD-40 by the gallon - spray the spinning blade and cut away!

That said, looks great - need video of wife using it for the tomatos though. Bound to impress the dinner guests. Laughing

Rob,

Craftsman has a version of the Double Cut Saw too:

About twice the price and a larger set of blades. It might be a bit more versatile. Maybe even slightly better quality. I believe there are other manufacturers with the same type of product.
