I put this checklist together from the sources I could find on the net (mostly Gene Fisher's and Emery Stora's great lists, plus some comments on GMCNet over the last few months).

I've used Gene's conservative-paranoid scale for some of the spares, and added some guesses of my own. I'll be filling out more of those, plus part numbers and such as I go along.
If you get a chance, please take a look and let me know if I've made any major mistakes or missed important things.
Most of you already have your "comfort-level-appropriate" kit assembled. I'm new here (miles to date in single digits), and jumping into the deep end (planning 5000 miles in the next two months), so trying to make sure I don't forget anything obvious.
I'll bring any tools that I know how to use...so if I have to write the list for help from some remote spot in America, at least I'll have a fighting chance!

That list that I put on the GMCWS site several years ago was quite extensive and perhaps a bit "tongue in cheek" and I did not assume that most people would carry all those tools but I do carry them because when I go to rallies I often find that I am helping to work on other GMCers motorhomes and you never know what tool you might need to repair or rebuild things especially when you are sometimes in areas where it is hard to find parts and tools.

Need to add wire, various gauges. Some wires are in awkward spots, and they do wear on rub spots.

Are Ga. 14, 16, 18 stranded adequate?

A small roll of steel wire is handy for such things as tieing up a tailpipe where the support has broken or for tieing down an awning when the bracket brakes. It is not electrical wire.
A wire coat hanger also can be used for such things.

Oh, dear, Andrew. You must be a Savannah Gentlemen. Steel wire is used for baling hay and was the primary fixing agent for everything imaginable 'till the advent of duct tape!
How do you think I kept the exhaust pipe from dragging on the road in my old Datsun pickup truck when I was in high school?

Ah. Yes, in these here parts we call that balin' wire. Galvanized, if yer fancy. Which I ain't. Mint juleps notwithstandin'.
It made total sense in Emery's list, less so after I arbitrarily lumped it in with the electrical bits.
I was thinking it was the same sort of mystery as the 120VAC bits that say "do not use with Aluminum wire"...as if I would even consider such a thing!
