Will get pictures off to you - maybe you have a way to post them on the
photo site so others can see them?

Are you guys talking about redoing the burp lines by any chance? I need to redo mine. Was thinking half inch tubing would work well...

Yep. Finding 1/2" hose for the burp line may not be easy.

Stick and I have been trying to find 1/2" 30R7 or 30R9 for a few days
now. Finally found two sources:

1. Summit has a SS braid covered 1/2" hose advertised as good for
gasoline -- but never mentioning 30Rx.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-230803/

2. O'Riley's web site has 1/2" 30R7 x 25' listed at $1.69 per foot.
It's listed as not sold on line but IS sold in stores. Stick called
and the local store should have it tomorrow. We don't know whether
they're getting a 25' roll to fill his 3' order. We had to provide
the P/N for them to have any idea what we were talking about.

What about pex or nylon tubing? I know the latter is not effected by fuel. Just need something to get fuel up to the filler neck... Was thinking a coil of copper tubing would work too, but that aint cheap...

Greetings:

For anyone working on, or thinking of working on, their “Burp” line…. Here are a couple of areas you might want to take a look at to see if you have any of the problems I found!

This picture shows the rear tank burp line twisted back on itself – It seems to have come from the factory that way as everything else “around” the rear tank appeared to be original.

Link:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=39641&title=p10100084&cat=5809

Also, you might want to examine the area where the frame and front clip are joined to see if you have any wear problems between the metal burp line and rear brake line like I found - The burp line was pulled away to make it easier to see the brake line.

When I was doing an assessment of work needing to be done on my GMC, I found the brake line to the rear brakes had be cut and a small piece of brake line out of the proportioning valve had been folded back on itself to seal the line off – I thought something pretty drastic to the rear brake line must have occurred to precipitate such action.

Later, I found out why such action was taken – It appears the burp line rubbed against the rear brake line and rubbed a hole in it – Not sure if this is applicable to anyone, but it is what I found.

Here's an update. Not knowing when or if I could get either, I bought both!

Summit SS braid hose arrived yesterday along with O'Reilly's 30R7. I picked up 3 feet at the local store (they ordered it, but said it is a regular stock item) for $1.69/foot. Summit was somewhat more expensive. I went ahead and put O'Reilly's on my coach for a short trip tomorrow.

We'll play with the SS from Summit when I get back and when Ken's creaky old back feels a bit better. The Summit hose will probably wind up on his coach.

I went to the shop that build hydraulic line and AC lines. He carries 1/2 high pressure Gates lines for diesels which is also gas line 30r7 and good gas. Price may have been high 10 bucks for 3 feet. I would expect most similar shop also carry such gas lines. I used them to rebuild my AC and oil lines when I need them. Generally the fab lines are less than new ones for the RV.
