I want to be as concise as possible in replying, however, not being particularly computer literate I'd like instructions on "sniping". Help!

Snipping is another term for trimming a reply. You'll notice that in my reply to you your original post is immediately below mine. Now consider a conversation that has bounced among many of our long-winded fellows and the trail, or thread can become very long.

Generally keeping the most recent response is all that is needed. Sometimes you can delete all of it and just post your reply. By the way your signature is perfect - name, location, and coach.

To snip this reply, I highlighted all the stuff that was unnecessary and then pushed delete. Since I use the forum, I left the word quote in brackets, so it will post properly.

No worries - it's not intuitive - you have to make a conscious decision to trim an e-mail thread.

I run around in circles at work when some very important nugget is buried deep in an email thread. So many people simply reply, or forward an email without considering that the message they intend to convey has little to do with the trail of past comments.

In any case - this is not brain surgery - it's just for fun, so do what you like!

I'm somewhat relieved to find that reading all this stuff is just for fun. I
was preparing to get concerned.
