when i posted reference to resource for part numbers i feel i opened a can of worms. to me worms are for fishing, not causing trouble.
i have not had the pleasure of dealing with either of the jims, or any of the other names that were mentioned, i assume all people on this site want to help keep these coaches on the road. i also assume as some of these smart people find a need for better, or stronger , or what ever part that many smart people are making them. i also assume that they spend there time and $ to design and make, then they should be paid for that effort.
my original questions was not that i needed a pm part, it was because i did find myself needing part numbers and it was my fault for not being better prepared. my question was to help me find info .
i look forward to dealing with the people on this site, i am sure as i see info that i will se a part that i need and will contact the person who has it , but i dont think i should be bothering by phone someone in another state for a part number just so i can go to local napa to buy. that has me taking up time of person who could otherwise be helping one of his customers, not just some unprepared person like me.
over time i hope to get to the pm part stage, i truly am working on it.
now question
can trans cooler line be shipped? and no i am not prepared to make my own at this point. also, mine seem to have a bubber coating on the metal lines, rubber cracked bad at areas, is that a sign i am on borrowed time

If you want part number the best place to get them are form the GMCMI parts book published annually or call one of the Jims. If you find a number or source that is not listed in the GMCMI book the please post it here so one of us can add it to next year's GMCMI Parts Interchange book.

I agree with you that I am not going to call Jim every time I need a belt, spark plug, or alternator, but when it is some larger or GMC MH specific part I go to one of the Jim's immediately.

There is some risk to that approach since many parts they have in stock are improved versions and I will miss out on that improvement by going locally. One example of that is the fan belt situation. The original belt thickness has been change by the OEM manufacturer. If I go to the store and ask for it they will give me one that is too thin. If I order it from one of the Jims I know I will get the correct part every time. Another example is the improved brake hoses that the the Jims are supplying are not listed or available in the auto parts stores.

I'll let one of the Jims tell you if the trans lines are shippable. I picked up my replacements so I do not know if you can ship them or not.

On something like a transmission cooler line, a rubber jacket is either to prevent stone damage from the road or to change the natural frequency to prevent a fatigue failure - like the wire wrap around some brake lines. If you are worried, get the line out. Then, get some rubber tape (electricians still use it). Clean the line with brake cleaner and re-wrap it. Do not use vinyl tape here, it does not self vulcanize.

As for part numbers.
Do you have the GMCMI Parts interchange index?
Did you look at the online interchange?
They are all anybody here knows and this is where we go other than the Jim-s.

Both are pretty good, but all distributors change suppliers from time to time and not all of those suppliers are conscientious about fitment. We can't begin to keep up with that.

I bought a stainless steel brake line kit from Classic Tube and the long
runs were bent to fit them in a box that was 48" long. The USPS specifies
the following; "Packages Maximum length plus girth 108 inches (130 inches
for Parcel Post)."

BTW I WOULD NOT buy a kit from them again I had a hell of a time making it
fit and there was one 60" section missing! Buy them from Tom Hampton:

If you're talking about JR Slaten's SS flexible lines, sure they can
be shipped. But I think Gateway's ad specifies that SS hard lines
cannot be shipped.
