I read the head pilot's write up a few days back. Number 2 engine caught fire. He chose to put it in the field rather than return to the airport. They landed, and unloaded every thing inside. When the fire department showed up, the fire trucks refused to drive into the field because it was too wet. So they all stood there and watched it burn.

It happened just west of Chicago in the far suburbs, and it is a shame to see such a magnificant plane burn.
The pilot was being interviewed on local TV the other night, and was hoping to return to the airport, but a chase plane told him the fire was too bad and to put it down in the field.
Luckily, all the folks on board were able to get out unharmed.
