Being a newbie GMC owner Im still learning, have a 6kw onan that runs but produces no A/C, onan have checked and changed the bridge rectifier, shot it with 12volts no joy. they think it may be the compounding/reactor inside? what is a compounding/reactor and what does it do?anyone out there have any insight/knowledge of this problem and what may be the availabillty of such a part? Oh Boy. . .
The thing called a compounding reactor is a strange transformer that increases the field current as the AC load increases. It is just a transformer with all the associated durability. In Short, It isn't high on the list.
Did you check that field continuity while you had the bridge out?
This is a good trick for a brush (good chance) test.
There is a picture of JimB's yard with a bunch of NF Onans lying about. I bet he has one - if you do need it.
