Homer, I am not real clear on just what you are looking for. However, call Jim K or Jim B. I am sure they can help you. Both sell new windows and parts for old ones.
Welcome to the group.

Les,

Congratulations on your recent purchase.

If your classic GMC hasn't been listed in the Worldwide GMC Motorhome Registry, or if you're not certain, please send me your coach's VIN/TZE number and I will check it out for you. Because you recently bought your GMC, also send me any prior owners info along with the TZE.

A handy on-line form can be found at http://GMCmhRegistry.com. The Registry has tracked down over 8,100 coaches since 1993.

Thanks,
John

DO NOT let him ship to you using UPS. You will end up with a brokerage fee on top of taking forever. I use USPS to ship tp Canada. I do not know what the fees are like using Fed-EX.

As a Sequoia, I assume it is a 1973 or 1974. Those years came with the early type windows. These windows have a felt covered seal for the moving glass and a rubber/plastic seal for the stationary glass. I know Jim Bounds at the GMC CoOp has the felt ones. <http://gmccoop.com/> I got the stationary seal at a local glass shop... but I do not really like the color. (Light grey) Another source could be Jim Kanomata at Applied GMC <http://www.appliedgmc.com/>

But these only seal the glass to metal frames. The frames need to be sealed to the body. The early frames also have "leak points" where the multi-part frames are pieced together. You also need to ensure the drain ports are clear.

The later coaches have different windows with different seals. They are a "little" less prone to leakage. All coaches have the same type cockpit windows... similar design to the early style.

I would not remove the windows unless you are redoing the interior. Clean up the gap between the frame and the body, mask the area around the frame, then use a quality sealant around the frame. (Do NOT use a permanent type sealant, like 3m 5200, if you ever want to remove these windows -- ever.) Be sure to force some sealant into the gap to get a good seal.

I know I have seen photos and instructions somewhere....

OBTW: Welcome to the group.

When I saw Jim K & had lunch with him a couple of weeks ago, he mentioned to
me that he had some smoking deals on late model type windows, the ones that
open on the bottom third of the frame, particularly , the door windows, and
smaller sizes. Give him a call at 800 752 sevenfiveoughttwo and ask him to
quote you a price. Might be an attractive deal when faced with trying to
leak seal those old style ones.

Les,

When I was at Jim B's COOP last summer I had his guys seal the windows on
Double Trouble.

They took 1/2" blue masking tape and ran it around each window 1/16" inch
out from the frame. They then carefully applied a small bead of black
silicone around them. Before it set up they peeled the tape off. It looks
great and voila, NO LEAKS!

As you may have discovered already, no one is doing business in Middle (North America) Earth today; USA Memorial day.
Id you search around in the forum and talk to JimB you will get good instructions on replacing the felts.
Welcome aboard.
