There's over $800 in the fund but the conversation has died down.
I figured people would be contacting me by now.
Is anyone making plans to head this way?
I don't have much time to contribute but I can answer specfic questions, forwward photos, take delivery of UPS packages, etc.
Memorial Day weekend I will be heading to Durham and Sanford, NC. If anyone donating parts I might could pick them up (driving a small car)
If there is a plan coming together a little warning might be helpful to maintain domestic harmony.

I can drive up from Savannah to help out. I am not knowledgeable enough to lead the operation and I have no special tools, but I'm usually on the high side of clueless.
Coach status (mostly from Tom's messages):
- No mufflers or exhaust pipe post-manifold (loud, safety issue when not moving)
- Brake rotors and calipers extremely rusty (functional? serviceable?)
- Fuel system suspect (jury-rig with jerry-cans and marine pump?)
- Other surprises?

This would be a great week-end work party. I believe that teams working on it could solve most of it easily. The teams probably would not get in each others way.

Transportation

~1200 miles.
I'd guess from recent experience that towing would be super pricey, so we'd need either someone who can take care of themselves and coach eventualities on a long trip, or a series of relay drivers. I can't help much here.
Marsha said it was insured, I think, so tags and registration should be straightforward. 1200 miles of gas will cost ~$500.
As long as we're not putting tons of effort into creating MORE problems for Marsha, it sure would be great if we could make it happen!

More info;
Brake MC appears new, aft res is empty, forward res is full. There's a leak somewhere.
tanks appear new, non-OEM and have drain plugs. Fuel line is unknown. I may have a peice of Poly-Armour big enough to go the distance.
electric fuel pump was added status of it and mechanical fuel pump unknown.

Didn't Marsha say she bought a complete exhasut system? If so, it just needs to be installed and shouldn't affect too much of the "fund".| Quote: |

Marsha returned the exhaust she had purchased.
Is rust a good reason to replace the rotors?
If the rotors and pads were new before is was parked do they need to be replaced?
Maybe this is a two step process; maybe a crew needs to hang some exhaust on it to, fire it up and evaluate the brakes and trans.
It would be a shame to deplete the fund and then find a major unknown.
I wish i had the time to help answer these questions.

Aft resevoir is the front disks, that would coincide with the rusty "think
overheated" rotors and calipers. That being said, the calipers and pads are
the easiest to change, the rotors are not as the hubs need to be pulled,
bearings removed, rotors replaced, bearings reinstalled, and the hubs
replaced. A good idea is to replace the flexible brake hoses also if they
are OEM. Need bearing tools to do this job. If you are thinking of driving
1200 miles on an unknown coach, I would repack the front bearings anyway.

There is a new battery.
Marsha and Tom got it to fire up just pouring gas or starting fluid down its throat.

I've seen some people who "intersperse" use upper case
for their replies, but that is also annoying to read.
I don't know how the mail list OR the forum would react
and respond to using different fonts for original and reply.
I find that things show up in screwy fashion unless I convert
everything to plain ASCII text.
But then, I make my replies to the entire original and use
paragraphing to differentiate those reply segments.
Personally, I find the "inserting/interspersing" method to
be VERY disconcerting and hard to follow.
I also TRY to separate headers and various forwards by
THREE lines to hopefully assist additional readers.
