There's a metallic green 77 GMC that I often drive by on my way to see my folks in Novato. Last month a "For Sale" sign popped up on it so a "future owner" from this list and I went over to check it out.

It's nice, but not really the coach he's looking for so here's the report. (Whenever an owner is generous with their time to show me a coach that I don't buy I try to return the favor by posting something for them, especially if it isn't already listed well.)

This is over on our GGGMC.org site. http://goo.gl/vOkk3

Cheers!

Doh... you can't tow with a 403 and unmodified final drive? Bummer. I
was hoping I could get a trailer and haul my 1968 Pontiac Catalina
with it. :(

Oh, I'm sure you can. He just didn't want to.

I don't ever plan on towing, so I don't really think about it.

...Robin...I have a 78 (former) PB, with a 403.

I gotta tell ya that installing Jim's 3:70's was the best thing I could have done from a performance point of view.

We do live in a very mountainous regon, and that means that we need all the up hill power we can get, we also pull a trailer with two motorcycles, although the combination is quite light (1200 lb.)

I don't think you would have a problem towing with your 403icd and 3:42's as long as your principle driving remains on flat prary terain, however, once you hit the mountains....all bets are off.

Since I live in the Deep South, I'm a good piece away from any
mountains. The Ozarks and the Appalachians are several several hours
away. Ok, I'll put a 3.70 final drive (that's what it's called,
right?) on the list of future upgrades.

Sorry to threadjack. I hope they're able to sell that GMC. :)

Don't let the hundreds of folks out there that tow with their 403's hear
that.
