I have a 3.42 final drive installed by the P.O. and it seems to be okay and is
quiet under load, but there is a whine in the overrun (coasting). I've been
sensitive to any change in the noise and every once in a while I imagine (or is
it real?) that the noise is getting worse. In my dim memory from the olden days
I recall that the noise is usually from an improperly set up gear mesh and is
nothing to worry about. Or is it?
