Windshield glue absorbs moisture and adding water(mist) to a freshly set window bead will speed the cure. I would think a sealant on the edge of the glass (other than windshield adhesive) might be more effective to stop transmission of moisture.

That is what my windshield guy does only he uses the normal windshield sealer rather than silicone. He says never use silicone on any part of a car. Also if you use silicone it will leave steaks every time it rains and water runs over the silicone.

I do not think we are talking about the same stuff. This is more of a rubber product. He keeps the tubes in a heater and applies the stuff hot. It never completely hardens. I have a tube of it in my hanger. I microwaved the tube prior to using it since I do not have normal tube heater.
