On of the tappets in Moby the Motorhome is starting to talk to me. Any suggestions I might try before pulling it apart?

We used to use some transmission fluid poured into the oil for a while, then change the oil when the tapping stops. The higher detergent levels in the trans fluid were supposed to help free the lifter.
I think it's probably worth a try!

Try the Seafoam works wonders for me i use it in all my gas engines. Works well in trans too. But it sounds like you are getting a sticky lifter. Sometimes you could also have a exhaust leak that sounds like a lifter. If it just started and you have been running the engine for a while i would lean towards the leaky exhaust.

Glenn,
First, make sure it really is a lifter problem. It could well be a broken
valve spring or a bent pushrod. The right thing to do here is pull the
valve cover and do an inspection.
Having said that, if the ticking gradually subsides and completely goes
away,it may well be what you suspect.
