any pictures of mounting a replacement fuel selector valve?

I am guessing it is ok to mount it upside down?

it is a standard valve.

Jon,

If this is the valve you're talking about:

IIRC when Jason (Jim B's mech) installed mine the plastic is up with the two
inlets pointed rearwards towards the two tanks.

It has to be, somehow, connected electrically to the frame to provide the ground path for the DC negative connection.

Sort of related: Today during the BS garage BS session, one of our older,
most technically proficient members told about recent fuel system problems.
Troubleshooting identified bits of rubber, including one large chunk, in
the carb inlet filter. He finally found the source of that debris to be the
selector valve. When he cut it apart he found that there were disintegrated
rubber components inside. More ethanol effects, I suppose. Glad I replaced
mine with two electric pumps.
