Hi. Sorry for having to go to the well on this but does anyone have a recommendation for a decent Digital SLR camera for less than a $1000.00. We need one for work to shoot some slides through a microscope attachment.

Thanks

I don't use it, but my wife loves her Nikon D70 (?). I think all these cameras are quite impressive these days, take your pick.

Hi Gary

Here is a digital camera review site. Their recommendations may be helpful.

Sorry a little late in the game here.
Look at the Canon T2i which is an 18mp camera that also has the ability to take very nice HD videos, although you might not need that capability.
Since you are using it on a microscope you likely will not need a lens so that makes it even cheaper then you are talking.
FYI this has the same sensor as the 60D.

Now the problem might be making the connection between the camera and the microscope attachment keeping any automatic functions you might want. If that is not important and you do not mind shooting in manual mode, this is the one I would suggest.

NOt sure where Anza is but if you are anywhere near a Sammy's store, talk with someone there. Besides you might find a good used one since it was just supplanted by the new T3i but it is still available and being made last time I asked last week.

Hope that helps
