Having read all the comments about macerators (and watched the movie RV) I didn't think I wanted to begin my GMC experience without one --- so here is my effort.
Special recognition to Duane Simmons for his GMC West technical article on all the things a GMC owner should know which included a diagram and parts list for a macerator installation. I borrowed heavily from his plan.
The fixed discharge hose extends 9 feet from the side of the coach -- but with a thread to garden hose adapter I can add a length of garden hose if required.

Dennis,
Nice job!
You might want to get another section of the black hose which I assume is 1"
ID that way if you have to extend it you won't wind up with the reduced ID
of garden hose.

That is correct and I'm sure they work fine, however, 1" ID is mo betta as
it has lower pressure drop for the same length. ;-)

Correct!
Unfortunately as an anally retentive perfectionist I noted that the outlet
of the macerator was 1" so that's the size of hose I HAD TO HAVE!
Jeez, I am my own worst enemy! ;-)

Here's a picture of the macerator hose storage tube on Double Trouble, it
runs down inside the drivers side frame rail. This is the way Jim B does it.

1. How far under your coach is your 3 inch dump? It looks like it would be a bit hard to use... not wanting to crawl on the ground at a dump station. (I know it would be too far under on a 26foot... and this is a 23. Also this is only a back-up method of dumping.)
2. Is the discharge hose smooth on the inside? If the outside shape is reflected on the inside...

On my early 73 coach the original 3 inch discharge hose from the Thetford valve is a 3 foot stiff rubber hose, the end of which is held in a bracket under the rear bumper and lowered for dumping. The Valterra valve is about 18 inches behind the bumper -- and should only be an emergency hookup. May not carry a 3 inch discharge hose but just buy one at Walmart if ever needed.
The 1 inch macerator discharge hose is smooth on the inside, ribbed on the outside to prevent kinking. I bought it at Lowes in the fish pond supplies -- used for continuous pumping of pond water.

Thank you for the photo link. I have the same storage scabbard made from conduit but on my 23 it only allowed 9 feet before it came to the rear fuel tank elbow. Not wanting any potential rubbing problem I stopped just short. I will look for a good storage spot for a discharge hose extension.

Nice installation, Dennis. My Macerator was installed by the PO, and works fine as is. However, there are some things I think could be improved upon. Someday...when I decide to tackle it, I will use your very well composed photo essay as an example of how to do the job right.

Thanks for the offer. My coach also has the air lines running through the frame rail at the same point as the fuel tank elbow so seems unlikely I could make more room for a hose storage pipe.
Denny Allen only included 10 feet of hose in his basic kit so I am thinking I will be ok.

Very pretty work. I like the protected position for the macerator pump. Wont be knocking that one off. On my next coach (next month), it has a macerator installed, but I'll be freely copying your installation. About the only change I would make, on my previous coach, the P.P.O. (Bill Harvey, GMC Western States) put the pump switch in a location where you could reach it without opening the Gen door. You just reached into the cooling vents. I do like the circuit breaker.
