I wonder what voltage is used between the power supply and the unit... it would be nice if it was 12v.

I've been through a lot of these type of devices because of where my office was located.

The short of it - The only two devices that work are the ATT "Microcell" and Wilson Electronics holder.

The device at "Sale a Day" would also have problems with the ground plane a vehicle would present to it's antenna. It's effect in an average office would be minimal at best, especially on the transmit side.

Figured something like that. There are many reasons for a item to end up on one of these sale sites... "having problems" is one of them!

I have the YX510 version (dual 800/1900) in my home office. It does work, but it is not as stable or dependable as the Wilson in the coach. The wallwart says 3.6VDc 2.0A. (Time for either an LM338 or a switcher.)

This version is the 1900Mhz only. Be sure it is what you want. Not everything is 1900 yet.

Another problem is with the provided antennas, you will be hard pressed to get the separation required to prevent feedback in a coach size package. The outside antenna is a vertical dipole and does not need a ground plane.

It is a great product, not the same as this one you have listed though, as it requires the phone to be in the cradle and speakerphone or bluetooth used. It also is only $90 at 3gstore.com, lower price than this unit.

I have had the Wilson Sleek a couple of weeks now, and still feel it is a great product. Tried it out yesterday on and AT&T iPhone in a very difficult area, and it worked well on that system too (I am Verizon based).
