If you have any red scotch brite available you can roll it tight and twist it inside the pump body like a hone to remove rust trails and fuel deposits which might bind up the piston

There is a fuel filter in the bottom of the Onan fuel pump. Any reason it wouldn't be clogged up just line your "prime mover" fuel filters?

The Onan pump is rather simple. Besides the filter, it has a piston and two check valves. IIRC: Those are the only moving parts in it. I have had good luck with disassembly and cleaning with carb cleaner. I would try cleaning before replacement.

If you take the bottom of the pump off (hold in soft vice jaws and unscrew
the bottom) take note of orientation and order of parts. slide the piston
out and look at the bore as well as piston. Mine had little slug trails of
rust in the bore and the scotch brite cleaned it right out. Blow clean with
compressed air and give it a whirl. Fuel seems to keep leaking out during
disassemble so well ventilated area preferable.
