The parts list on Bdub's site has the lower radiaton hose as GM part # 689921, but all the cross references I came across
were flexable hoses. Does anyone have a source for a formed hose?

Luther, I got mine from Jim B. Our coach came with a flex hose on the lower but I did not like it. I am sure Jim K. has it also.
We missed you two in Patterson.

Luther, your GMCMI Parts Interchange lists a NAPA NBH-8796 and notes to cut
3" off each end.

As always, a wealth of good info. Thanks Gene! One other thing, I have a
stock turbo intercooler from a late model Dodge diesel. It is in perfect
shape and looks like it might make a good radiator for the GMC with mods to
the inlet / outlets to fit the hoses and add a filler neck. There appears to
be plenty of clearance for the intercooler in the coach and it has much more
surface area. Is this a stupid idea?

Todd,
I would suspect that the pressure rating is not high enough to use a a
radiator. Turbo boost is typically measured in In/Hg whereas the GMC
rated for use with a 9 or 10 PSIG cap (better than 20 In/Hg). I would
also suggest that the intercooler may not have enough surface area to
cool a liquid as compared to a gas.

Spend $30 and become a International member and you'll have the part#
Hate to be so cold, but it is well worth the 30.

JimK;
I purchased a new '73 Canyonlands 26 footer
and later purchased my current '76 Eleganza II ~

After looking over some of the receipts collected
from Cinnibar, Buskirk. Classco, Ragusa, Grandview,
Golby, Gateway, L Harrison, Caspro, Sirum, CoopGMC,
Southland, K Frey, E Fisher and Others I have tried
to do the basics in the upkeep on my GMC Motorhome.

Cloyes True Roller Timing Chain, Thorley Headers,
Flowmaster Muffler, 3 Inch Exaust, Rebilt Carburator,
Heavy Duty Alternator, Battery Isolator, Airbags and
Shutoff kit on both sides, Engine side vents, cermatic
under floor & Tank Insulation, Ragusa Cooler Finned
Pan, Finned Final Drive Cover, 3.55 Final Drive, New
PS Hoses, New Oil Cooler & Hoses, New Transmission
Cooler & Hoses, New AC Hoses, New Galley Laminated
Flooring, New Berber Carpet, New Captians & Passenger
Seats, New Barrel Chairs, Flexsteel Couch, Furnace
And Many Other Updates ~

I can see that a whole lot of money has been given out
over the years in the upkeep of the '78 GMC Eleganza !!

In a few days we are going to SE Michigan and I was just
replacing 2 Tires and all of the belts and hoses ~
While getting the needed back-up parts to replace the ones
that I was installing. I noticed that the *403's Upper &
Lower Radiator Hoses showed the origonal Gm#2015465 and
Gm#2015466 Part Numbers ~

I went to the NAPA Warehouse and they do not show a cross
reference for the 403 hoses.
I know JimB will ship them to me but we plan to leave
before they could get here `

I Just asked if anyone knew any cross reference #s for
the 403 and didn't mean to appear so COLD ~`

Sorry To Ruffell Your Feathers
But
It Will Be A -30 degree Day In August Here In Alebamy
Before I Will Pay You $30.00 For A Hose Part Number ~

{you'll hafta hose me another way ~ LOL} ~

~ Joe ~

Guys... you are talking at cross purposes. The $30 isn't for a hose part cross number. It's for membership in GMC Motorhomes International. Yes, you get the parts interchange, which is way more than a single part cross number, but you also get quite a few other benefits, especially if you attend one of the fabulous conventions.

That being said, if you want to save your $30 and feel you have no other use for GMCMI, I'm sure someone will give you the part number. As for a -30 degree day in August in Alabama, I'll be willing to give it a try for one day this year when I'm sick of the heat and humidity. It'll be a nice change so long as it doesn't stick around.

I would also say that if you aren't an FMCA member already, the cost to join GMCMI is a bit more than $30...

Jeremy;
We are taking a jaunt up to the Notre Dame Area for my
55th reunion and them go around Lake Michigan before
the anticipated $6.00 per gal Gas.

I just finished replacing all of the belts, vacuum lines
and all hoses {including heater hoses} when I went to
purchase the back-up parts I noticed that I could only
find Original GM Part Numbers for the 403's upper and
lower radiator hoses ~ ~
No Big Deal I Thought, I'll just ask on this site !
Whoop tee Dooo ~

In the fall my wife, daughter and I went up to the Lexington VA area for my 10th reunion. Took a week and had a blast. I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip. I certainly don't care if someone gives out the part number or not and if I had my parts interchange handy I would. I just didn't feel like seeing another discussion blow up over something that looks snarky when typed but wasn't meant as a big deal.

That being said, I stand by my comment for one day of -30 in August being refreshing...

Thanks for posting, we followed your trip reports
on this site ~

A few years back it was 102 degrees at 10:00 PM
and Birmingham had a massive power Failure ~
We cranked up the Green Barbarian {busted muffler}
and turned up both AC's. We were watching a movie
when the couple next door came over to complain
about the noise that the generator was making ~

They ended up spending the night with us in the GMC
and are now the proud owners of a Kingsly 26 footer ~

~ Joe ~

BTW
When I wuz a yung ignernt yungun on de farm
we'uns had Maters, Taters and Lasses to eat ~
When I gots my edumakation and Book Larnin
I found out that we'uns wuz really well off
Cause We Had 2-Maters, 4-Taters & Mo-Lasses ~
so u c,
it'll take mo than a Can of Maters
2 Mess Up My Day ~
