Hi Hardie,
That it is - the seller has two GMs for sale and they've been there for a few weeks. He seems very set with his prices I guess.

To see all the GMCs coaches for sale on eBay, I've found it easiest to just browse the rv category, selecting 'motorized', and sorting year, oldest first.

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/RVs-and-Campers-/50054/i.html?&Type=Motorized

I was shocked with this fellow, who has had his on eBay no less than 4 times. I don't believe he is one of the gang here - if he is, he needs a serious lesson in manners.

Gord,

I have followed both E-Bay and Craig's List and I would never bid on any major purchase like a 31 to 37 year old motorhome without looking it over and touching and feeling it myself. You are only asking for problems and troubles. Even asking someone to look it over for you can be risking a friendship.

I can also feel the seller's pain. A friend advertized a Jeep for the company that he works for 4 times and had the ad hijacked and used as a scam by hackers. For me it doesn't make sense and is a waste of my time.

Hi Jim,

Yes indeed, you are for all intents and purpose most correct...
In one of my previous posts here I mentioned my reasoning why I will never be dealing with eBay or PayPal again - however, eBay is a broad marketplace and quite good to study selling values of many things.

"Back in the day" (when eBay was momentarily a decent place under previous management), well I bought two cars through that venue; one from New Hampshire, one from California, and with little more information than was provided in the auctions. Both were gems and still run today.

One of the bonuses I find with Craigslist is people clearly know it's a haven for scams, so most people there demand contact by phone or methods other than those offered or *accepted* by eBay.

All said, this doesn't take away from my original points which are "seller number one" (probably a dealer) isn't budging from his set prices, and "seller number two" (probably in need of institutionalization), is so rude he may have demolished the interest in the GMC motorhome to someone who reads as truly decent and respectable, and with credentials.

gord,

I use e-bay to to check and research pricing. It does have it's place. ...and there is no place for a buyer or seller to flame one another and make fools of themelves. I don't even like to buy thru catalogs. ...but that is just me.

I have purchased more than my share on eBay for years, from small items to
Vehicles, I have had just a couple small problems and eBay has stepped in
and taken care of the situation. Maybe I have just been lucky but my luck
with eBay is better than the luck I sometimes have with stores. I also know
what items should cost and I know when to back off an item when the price
gets higher ( including shipping ) than what it's worth. I have seen many
people bid more and pay more than the item would have cost brand new in a
local store.

I have never lost a penny on eBay and I am almost always more than pleased
with my purchases. Like every purchase a person makes research is your best
protector.

G'day,

I have 1693 Feedbacks and to date I haven't had any real dramas with sellers
or eBay. I reckon the money I have saved buying items off eBay has more than
offset the few losses.

I agree with our Aussie buddy (below).

I have bought close to $40k of stuff on eBay
including two motorcycles (good deals) and my
GMC (paid too much but that was my fault).

I have had only a couple of deals that didn't
pan out well; a couple from bad shipping and
one from a seller who has now been exposed as
a general liar and fraud.

Total bad deals didn't amount to more than about
$150 and bad shipping that FedEx wouldn't admit
of about $300.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my eBay buying.
