Found out today that Ragusa was the original name
of the city in Croatia now known as Dubrovnik.
Yeah, I know it isn't REALLY about GMC other than
it's the name of the guy that makes some really
neat stuff for our GMCs.
Just thought it was interesting.

And I always thought it was as an acronym for Rsomething Asomething Gsomething USA.

Arent the Ragusa family originally from Italy?
Some of the best old automobile castings I have ever seen are on Italian cars, the detail and lack of poriousity are most evident.
Apparently the Italians perfected casting techniques centuries ago during the production of works of art, bronze figurines etc.
England and the USA made some awful automotive aluminium castings right up to the 80's, full of poriousity and very crude compared to the Itallian stuff.
