I don't think I've heard anyone on the list say they have a working version.

Never really worked that well and parts are extremely hard to find.
Not worth the trouble.

It is a control for the Thermosan unit that fed the black tank into the exhaust system. The system was on my coach when I bought it.

You mean like this:
<http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8454>

There some other parts... I have some pictured.

BDub has some literature on the system on this page:
<http://www.bdub.net/oddsnends.html>

I understand it worked well when the coach was used like they (GM) intended... a travelling machine. As driving some each day and not camping in one spot.

Gord,

Yes. . .

That is the control head for and second generation Thermasan.

We made harnesses for specifically for GMC, FMC, Travco and a few others. About a third of the high end coaches were shipped with this option and I have no idea how many aftermarket units were fit. They work great if you are a traveler, but if you are a camper, they are pretty much useless.

They were great for getting tailgaters to back off.

We have a member of the Saguaro Jetset that is the original owner of his coach, a "Royale". He tells me that he has an in-tact Thermasan system in the coach. IIRC he also said it is operable but he doesn't use it (any more).

Gee, I just dump the stuff at them straight out of the tank. I never though of heating it in the exhaust first.

Does the hot stuff work better on tailgaters?

Let's See, If we connect a hose & spray nozzles to our mascerator pump,
Point em out the back, would they work like spark plugs and propane
injectors in the exhaust pipes? ........
Hmmmm, just wonderin'. <Grin> It is 2:13 AM here & I cant't sleep.

Oh My Yes...
When we sprayed liquid waste all over the chase car (not any part of the test plan), the owner/driver (my tech) was only upset by the fact that he had to go find a car wash that was open that early in the spring.

But, When we inadvertently gassed him with a - way over odor limit cloud - he had to leave his car in our shop for the weekend to let it air out. When he got home, his wife asked him if had been playing in the holding tank. I bet that even the modern cabin air filters could not handle that.

Matt
