If I do, IT IS DAN's FAULT.
I'm running east on I-70 coming up on a construction zone near Effingham. There were three different lighted road signs saying "Cell Phone Use Illegal in Construction Zones". Just as I entered the construction zone the cellphone rang and and it was Dan. He stayed on the phone with me all the way through the construction zone. As I cleared the other side of the zone, Dan hung up and I went on my way.
Two minutes later an unmarked police car with 2 cops in it pulled along side of me rode there for a while. They did not pass. They just stayed there along side of me. I never looked down directly at the cop to see him. I acted like I did not see him. He slowed down got in behind me.
THERE GO THE LIGHTS. He was pulling me over. IT IS ALL DAN"S FAULT. The cop must have see me on the cell phone since I was only doing 57 mph and was below that in the zone. Maybe like Kansas they just do not like Kalifornia plates. Once I stopped on the shoulder the police car driver got out and walked up to the coach. Strangely the cop riding shotgun never got out of the car. I met the cop outside at the coach door.
"DRIVER"S LICENSE, REGISTRATION, and PROOF OF INSURANCE" he stated. I gave him my driver's license and told him I would have to go back in the coach to get the other stuff. He told me he would go back to the car and run my license while I was getting the other stuff.
I found the other stuff and went outside with it only to see the second cop walking up to the coach with my driver's license in hand. I never looked the cop in the eyes. I looked down at the paper work I was holding. I finally looked up and looked him direct in the face.
IT WAS MY COUSIN. I have not seen him for several years. That "so and so" knew it was me when he stopped me. That is why he stopped me. He said he knew I had a GMC but had never seen it. He said he always looks at GMCs on the road for Indiana plates. This one had California plates but he still checked out the driver visually when he was riding along side. We were not even in his post's territory. He and the other cop were going home from some training in another part of the state.
I guess I'll have to let this one slide and not put Illinois on my S list. If you see a cop checking out your GMC in Illinois, it might just be my cousin. He still has not seen mine.
It looks like they finally raised the speed limit on RVs in Illinois. I never saw a sign all the way across the state on I-70 saying RVs had to do 55. It is about time. Now if they would just get rid of the money grabbing toll roads in the northern part of the state I'd really be happy.
IT IS ALL DAN"S FAULT.

That sounds like a good new mantra.

The highest I paid was $4.399 in Kalifornia. The lowest was $3.29 in Kansas and Missouri. When I got home to the Chicago area it was $3.76. That is almost as much as the Kalifornia average which was around $3.99.
I agree
IT IS ALL DAN'S FAULT.

I just clipped the NW corner of it between New Mexico and Kansas. No toll roads there. Actually the I just blew through with all of it with the wind and dirt from New Mexico. I think most of New Mexico ended up in Kansas last week. I have never seen so much wind and dirt. At times it was so bad you could barely see the car in front of you. Now I know what the OKies went through out there in the 1920's. I still finding sand and dirt in the things I'm unpacking from the coach.

IT IS ALL DAN"S FAULT
_______________________________
Well hey, My Illinois Sick list will have to move over.
I have breaking news, of sort...
The ban on window tints has been lifted, slightly.
A few years back when the officers of public irritation pulled me over in a 87 Camaro, the answer to my question " why did you stop me " was " TINTED WINDOWS "... Heck I bought the car that way, but you did not dare use that as an excuse, just an informational item.
Now thanks to all the big 2 1/2 car manufacturers putting in tinted GLASS on the new cars, the state relaxed the law... and I sold the darn Camaro.
The GMC already has a sort of Air Con tint so I dont really want to make that any darker, besides, the brighter the light, the better I can see, these days.
So I don't know how I can blame this on Dan but I know Dan likes his Ice Cream, as we all do, so I can say the extra pound I have put on IS All Dans Fault.
