I was camped at Oak Flats campground near Superior this weekend. It's sort of out of the way and very rustic. A couple driving through noticed the GMC and the guy literally jumped out of his car. He has always wanted one and after talking for a while I told him I would send him links to units for sale. I have quite a few but any suggestions would be helpfull as well. His wife loved it as well and had never been inside one. Another camper also came over with a SOB and I was surprised how much he know about the GMC's. These things are quite a legend!

Do you travel with spare generators and gas cans?

Well, I repair them in my spare time and then run them for a while before I decide to resell them. I do run a small generator to top off the batteries so that I don't have to wake up the campgrounds with the Onan. They are so quiet, no one will ever complain even at night. I rigged up a simple Walmart boat tank with a modified cap so that a 2000W will run for several days if under light load. I'm a big fan of the Kipors, although they are starting to get pricey due to their popularity.

Thanks! Right now I keep the spare on the side of my house until I decide to throw it away.

Thanks Sandra. That paint job is about 20 years old now and I have never waxed it once. Good old Imron. It was done by Clarence Buskirk before he sold out to Wes Caughlin.

Wow! We had ours painted in '07 and it looks pretty good, but I doubt if
it'll hold up like yours.

The coach may be but the problem is that I'm usually with it Smile
