a quick update as I came across an almost match while picking up some wiper blades this weekend.
The paint is a Dupli-Color "Perfect Match" Paint
I got it at an O'Reilley's Auto (formerly Kragen in CA) for $6 for a short can.
The cap reads:
BGM0545 Santa Fe Tan (60)
replaces T126
I've attached some images of the paint test next to my paint:
Can
In shade
In direct light
Verdict:
In direct light it is a very close match to the original. It is a warmer tone, but pretty close. In the shade however, it is more noticeable. The paint has more of a pink hue to it than the original. That said, my coach is in real need of a wash/wax, so maybe not reflective of the tone one refreshed a bit. I wiped down the area, but did not buff, wax...
Overall, it is a close match, for a rattle can that is in no way supposed to be a match to the original paint on the Eleganza. I think it's important to keep in mid that this is supposed to be a match to some other paint and just happens to be close to ours. I am still on the fence as to whether I'll paint my fridge vent door with it, but thought I'd post my test in the hope it can help someone else out. For $6, it is a nice option for some of the misc. accessory items, but for something as large as the vent door I think it might bug me in the long run not to have a perfect match...

You also have to adapt for the fading of old paint.
Someone once suggested to take the mirror bracket off and take it to a "real" paint store. They should be able to whip up a batch of paint that should match. Most stores should be able to load it into something that works very much like a rattle can.
I have never done this.... someday I'll work on the appearance aspect! (It IS on my list....)

Anyone know the Paint code for 76 Eleganza? [message #119216] Sat, 19 March 2011 00:12
I am getting a new refrigerator exterior access door, and oven vent and want to color match them to my existing paint. Does anyone have a link to the paint codes used on the GMC motorhomes? Specifically for a 1976 Eleganza II

I don't believe the question was fully answered as to where you find the paint code. The primary source is the GMC Maintenance Manual, Body 1-5.
What....... you don't have a Maintenance Manual for your GMC. How can anyone possibly maintain a coach properly without the manual? (sorry, a pet peeve of mine)
Take the code to an automotive paint/supply and purchase a small amount (pint, quart) that way you will have a match and likely have leftover paint for those stone chips or the next repair.
