Neil,
I purchased all the new Parts ,that are available for the Parking Brake
including the compressed Air Actuator ,and I adjusted the Cables to 50
static ,the Brake Pads were just making contact .I adjusted the parking
brake Handle till it put 400 LB tension on the Cable going to the Pulley
with a pipe for an extension ,That puts 200lb tension down both sides and
only 100 LB tension per brake.
The Parking Brake would hold pointing up a hill of about 40 Degree's but not
in the Down direction at 10-15 degree's .
The Air activator makes it easier to activate the Parking handle ,it only
has so much travel ,if it could have a longer travel it might work.
I backed off on the Parking Brake lever as far as I could before ,I set the
50 LB. tension on the cables going to the back
I ,have been carrying a Stick I cut to the right length to stick between my
seat base and Brake pedal. When I get parked I use the stick ,the go outside
and block a wheel and back in remove the stick the put the GMC in park.
I'm not going to install the line lock, but will keep caring the Brake
stick. .
