I ordered a norcold radius corner fridge vent door (621156PW) as that seemed
to be what people were using and I think it looks nicer than the original.

However, when it arrived I found it was MUCH bigger than the original, and seemed
kind of flimsy. To install it, I was going to have to cut through the rub rail
and/or structural members to make it fit. In the end, I gave up and sent it back.
I'd love to find one that looks as nice and fits without major surgery, but so far no luck.

G'day,

The exterior fridge door in Double Trouble was kinda tatty so I decided to
replace it.

It had already been replaced by a PO with a plastic so I figger'd it would
be an easy task. I removed the one that was in there and screwed the new
frame in. I don't remember the brand.

When I got done I put the door itself in only to find out it didn't fit
properly!

It turned out that the hole in the sheet metal was not square and it
deformed the frame.

Unfortunately there wasn't anything I could do about it as all the holes in
the sheet metal lined up perfectly with the holes in the frame. If I cut the
hole a bit bigger to square it up it wouldn't help as the mounting holes
would pull it out of square.

I wound up sanding the door out of square to make it match the frame. You
can't see it unless you look REAL close.
Regards,
Rob M.

Mine came with a vent door like that, but maybe an older model since it was painted with coach (1996)

When I got the coach in 2008 there was one crack in the frame, now there are about 5 or 6 cracks. I think the air flowing by the vent while traveling is flexing the skin causing the cracks. I need to figure a way to stiffen the skin where the frame attaches to prevent this.

Anyone adding one of these should be sure to provide some stiffening of the coach's aluminum skin so theirs does not crack as well!
