I have but one thing to add to the Pertronix Upgrade information.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showfull.php?photo=37991

The yellow dot is where Pertonix says the sweet spot is on this sensor.
In actuality it turns out they were wrong. The red dot is where I
found it to be. About 3/8" difference and I had to move the magnet
further out on the fin to make the thing fire. Might be something worth
checking before you place the magnet.

The bracket was supposed to be welded but turns out I was out of shield
gas - hence the passel of rivets and the beating the poor thing took to
make those extra bends. Not pretty, but stout.

It's running well and my timing light actually says it's at 27° BTDC
now. I also wired up a fuel pump prime circuit while I was at it.

My oil leaks are better but not fixed. That front cover will be coming
off before I have to do any boondocking this summer. There is also a
1/2" crack in the oil pan. For now that gets slathered with JB Weld, I
think. I should probably drill the ends of the cracks... but at that
point I suppose I should pull the pan and fix it right. Just one more thing.

Super job Kelvin. I too love my primer switch and Pertonix. I had professional help from Ken, Larry, and Blaine when I did my Pertronix. Carried that thing around for 3 years. Actually Ken B. did most of it for me.

Actually my help was shaming him into installing it after all of the years he kept it in a cardboard box.

Have you checked the mounting and tried the AC compressor yet?

Nothing wrong with mount. Will fire the compressor tomorrow. Praying it works as it will be warm across Tx. next week.

Larry, we got to have air going down the road. Something happened to my compressor when they built the engine. Sounds like a machine gun when I turn it on. Am hoping some of the guys can tell me what the problem is when we get to Patterson.
