JimK has a new air bag listed on his web site (Silvertone style mono bags) that is supposed to be a direct replacement for the original. Does anyone know more about this? Pictures? Jim, can you chime in?

Bryan, I have seen them at his shop. They are of very good quality. If I was looking for something like that I would not hesitate to purchase. Should be a fast swap from the original bag, from what I could see. Jim and Grace are involved with putting on a 49er rally this weekend. He may or may not be at the shop now.

At the price of the new OEM bags, you are almost looking at a dead swap for the quadrabag versus 2 new oem bags. I just can't imagine being willing to take that swap if I had the quadrabag, but I guess to each his own...

LOL Dennis. I did not realize Chris had problems with his til today. I love mine. Had them for 4 years now. They not only improved our ride but also the handling. If you shut the valves off and blow a bag, they will not let you hit the ground. I like that too.

This bag unit was looked at when we saw one on the Silverton unit back in 1991.
We thought it was a way for them to not use the original GMC bag.
At the time, we did not see any importance until Firestone contacted
us that they were no longer going to produce the bags and that they
put us on allocation to determine how many we could order.
Basically we were doing well with the Q Bag system and also the Duel
bag and we glanced at the Silverton Mono bag now and then to see if
there would be a market for it.
When the Duel bag unit faltered with the Good Year bag,we discontinued
and started on the Silverton unit.
Our unit looks smiler to the one that Southland has. I have seen some
pictures of it and I would say it looks smiler as the shape looks
about the same.
I am short staffed this week so I'm nor sure I will get pictures up.
Grace and I are hosting the 49er GMC Club Rally Friday -Sunday

Sorry Dennis. I've got two good condition bags on my coach, and two more in questionable shape that I keep for spares. Would never occur to me someone would want to trade those for a quad bag system. My dad used to hate taking me fishing, said I was so ugly I scared them away just by looking. Who needs rocks?

Jeremy,

All good fun!
Someday we should meet and go fly fishing --- maybe a non-sponsored GMC rally near a fishing destination?
