My GMC is sitting on a little mound of ice and will require towing because
of it's downhill location in my driveway (GMC is below the level of the
towing vehicle). Where do I attach a cable or chain to the front of the GMC
so as not to bend, break or mutilate anything??

Wrapped around the main beam? dead center beside the engine mount (slightly
to the left or right actually) seems like a good location, but when the
cable is pulled tight, I fear it will put upward pressure on the bottom of
my radiator mount..Suggestions are appreciated !

Thanks folks!

Mike

Sir: I would use both ends of the chain around the main crossmember spread apart and pull the chain from the center as an "A". You can use short 4x4 blocks with a grove chainsawed for the chain tied on the chain with wire or ties for coach protection as needed. Use a quality chain and please be careful.

Mr Boyd

You clearly have me confused with someone else when you refer to me as,
'Sir" <VBG>

This setup sounds pretty good, I'll have a look in the morning.

Thanks

Mike (aka Panhead Mike )

Mike: anybody that admits having a Panhead is a Sir in my book.

I got a 52, 58, and a 65, no left leg and a bad right knee.
Holler off net if you need parts.

Responses like this are why I often contact Chuck off net for advise on stuff like this. The boy thinks things through before he give an answer.

Very generous but...

If you are missing one leg and have a bad knee -- well, I don't think you have many parts to spare!
