The 10amp switch gave you more output than the 30amp,
or is that a typo?
What is the Depot costs for these?
Nice find!

Yes. For some reason, the 30a switch cut the power to the lights considerably. When I returned the switches, another customer in the store said LEDs can be affected by too little or too much amperage or voltage (I can't remember exactly) He said they need a switch between 8-18amps. Don't know what he was talking about, but it seems to be true. The 10a switch works fine. I always thought any switch would be ok as long as the load was less than the amp rating. Apparently, not true with LEDs.
The lights were $12 single and $31 for a three-pack.

I'm thinking the 30Amp switches you got must have been faulty, or they were some type of special purpose switch with current limiting or something.
The current rating of the switch is the maximum it can handle while your LED lights are drawing a fraction of an amp.

I have used some of these LED lights in the GMC. I have two in the hall, one over the stove, they are great. For bright light in the hall, I also have a Halogen up there but for travel, nightlighting, etc, the LED is great and uses less power.
Never had a problem with voltage variance, been installed since 2007.
