- Onan runs pretty well on points.
- Set the flywheel timing "V" to line up with the 21° mark on the back
cover.
- Make a bracket, mount the Pertronix sensor.
- Mount the magnet to a flywheel fin.
- Check that it runs well on points one more time.
- Line up magnet with yellow dot and clamp Pertronix assy to backing plate.
- Fire up the Onan. Doesn't start. Move the Pertronx assembly around.
I can get it to sort of fire AFTER I let off the Start button.
I can't make it fire by an means I find on the Net.
This doesn't work.

Thought I might have the magnet oriented backwards but waiving the
remains of the magnet ring over it (clear side toward sensor) does
nothing.
I've been very careful to keep those sensor leads away from any 12V
source since Mike Miller toasted his. I don't THINK I've fried this...
but...
The bracket was supposed to be the tough part. Maybe not.
Any info appreciated. Worries me that Ken Hendersen's instructions for
testing it are failing...

You know how talking about something will often help you solve your own
problems?
Ken said that there needs to be 12V to the coil to do this test. Turns
out that's kind of important...
Pertonix does fire the spark plugs when the remains of the magnet ring
are passed over it. I suppose I should start again on mounting my
magnet and get it oriented correctly this time.
