Chuck, I've been called on Bean Station dates. These are the dates that Marti hand wrote and mailed to me. Actual Kn Derby is one week later.
I hope that clears up any confusion by members. And, I hope it does not change. Hard to get the word out fast. Some members do not have or use e-mail.

Boy I hope they are the right dates. I was thinking I wouldn't make it this year if it's the Kentucky Derby weekend, but if it is the weekend listed I'll be joining Dixielanders shortly so I can try and go this year. Chuck... can I hand you a check at Eastern States?

Thanks,

I'd have sworn that I checked the KY Derby date long before BS date was
announced and found that it was on the Apr 28 - May 1 weekend. That's what
I've had on my calendar since at least early Jan. I too hope Marti will
stick with that weekend, despite her tradition.

Yeah, I looked it up again before I posted. Doesn't change that I THOUGHT
I'd checked it earlier -- when I made up our annual calendar in Dec. 10 or
Jan 11. MIGHT not be my first mistake.

The Kentucky Derby has and always be the first Saturday of May. This year it
is May 7. You'll note that the second Sunday of May is Mother's Day, which
is May 8.

Every time it comes around like this it causes confusion for lots of folks
that think Mother's Day is really sacred and Father's day isn't. Based on
scientific data at my disposal both days are of equal importance or lack of
importance.

I hope you get this straightened out. I was planning on Kentucky Derby weekend as usual. I would have shown up a week late. This will not be the first time we missed something by showing up a week late. I've got a conflict with the last Saturday in April.

Why not just hold it for two weekends to fix the problem.

Now I'm really confused! I've always thought Mother's Day was nine months after Father's Day.   ~ Howard N ~

It is. And just once a year, too.

When I got married a guy told me to put a penny in a jar for every time the
wife and I had sex during the first year. After that I could take a penny
out of the jar every time. He said I'd never run out of pennies in the jar.

I have to admit he was right. Don't you just hate smart guys.
