Just in case anyone is interested. This is the first time I have ever seen these available new. I have a bunch of these around here that I store all kinds of things in, including ammunition and hand tools. I bought many if these years ago in used condition for $5.00 or $6.00 each. One of them even came with some .50 caliber rounds in it by mistake. Another one came full of water.

These are new and come out to be $20.00 each when you include the shipping. The email I got said the price is good until Feb 27th.

Well,

I can't count how many of those cans I ran over with a 4.2" mortar carrier
(APC). These cans are exactly the same as the ones the fuses came in. Used
once, ran over once, probably $50,000 worth at $20 a pop. I have three that
I keep tools and other things. One has cleaning solvent in it for cleaning
small parts for the GMC. Seal very tight.

I have bought used ones for years. They usually sell the by the pallet at the government surplus auctions. Then they show up at the guns shows for $5.00 to $10.00 each each for B grade ones. I have a bunch of them around here in different sizes.

I primarily use the .50 cal ones and the 7.62 mm ones. I do not know if I have any .223 ones or not. I even have a couple of German ones. They are good for storing just about anything (including ammunition) in air tight waterproof containers. I have some .30 carbine ammo stored in one that was made before I was born in 1944. I just have never seen brand new ones for sale before.

No there were 11 loose ones. Un-fired and no dents in the primers. Obviously they came off of a range somewhere. Someone collected them in the can for some reason and then somehow the can got mixed in with all of the other empty ones. They did not charge me extra for the rounds or for the other can full of water. I complained about the water can and another rusty one so they sent me two more replacements at no charge.

Yes the price is right but they are using UPS and they want another 11.50 to ship just one from Lincoln, Nebraska to Indiana. They want 16.50 to ship one to Kalifornia. This make them more expensive than the brand new ones from Cheaper than Dirt in Texas. I imagine if you ordered more than one that the per unit cost would go down.

The UPS shipping kills the whole deal on this one.

Ken, if you see Teri out looking around your shop, she hides geocaches in the small ones. She has raided my garage and I refuse to pay for anymore. Smile

I have a lot of plastic jars that Michelle was saving for you workshop use but I have a lot more than I need. They are the size of peanut butter jars. Would Teri like me to bring some with me to Patterson for her?

Ken -- you could make one heck of a "Zip gun" for those cartridges with a piece of pipe, rubber bands, a couple pieces of wood and a nail for a firing pin! :) :)

If I were to make a zip gun out of one it probably would turn out to be a pipe bomb or hand grenade.

It looks like you can buy this stuff for $3.71 a round. I wish I had the money for all of this stuff I blew off during my stint in the army.

A full can of it is only $500.

I remember in ye goode ol days when a can of 50 linked was $169! this was about 12 years ago.

Best rifle to shoot these rounds are made by Barrett but will set you back more then a reaction arm brake system. Fun stuff to shoot if you have access to a nice range Smile

Ah, yes, the infamous head space and timing and the "Go no Go" gauge.
