The article says it has not been seen since the 1980's and there might be 2 of them at Auburn.

These are way cool. I guarantee you fuel costs would be rounded off when considering the cost to buy and refurbish this beautiful beast. I'd love to just see one in person - I'd pay to drive one!

Bill,

There was one at Carlisle last year. They let you walk through the front
and climb up to the single cockpit seat for the driver. Driver sits at 11
feet! The guide said they were so hard to stop they would separate them by
football fields as opposed to car length.

Really cool. The guide said that production was halted after another
invention came along. The TV. The Futureliner was a traveling exhibit of
technology.

Rob,

I believe there's a mistake about the date of the Kalamazoo show. I can't
imagine it going from September 29 through April 1. If so, they surely don't
expect anyone to attend the whole thing.

I watched the videos. I didn't imagine that the trucks would have anything
but a straight transmission. I found out I was was incorrect.

It would be interesting to restore one but replace the gull wings with
slideouts but using the same skin. I also find it fascinating to see the
type of superstructure it had.

Thanks for sharing the videos. You Tube has something for everyone.

At 10 PM God's time, some other time down under, Paul Bartz straightened me
out. Not only did he do that but he also inspired me to get to Kalamazoo to
the Air Zoo of Michigan. I like air museums.
