In redoing my motorhome I had to remove the door strap that was on the door when I painted it. I think I have it somewhere in a box in the garage but was wondering if anyone has used anything else in it's place. I've been looking at some of the brushed stainless steel handicap grab bars that are sold at home depot, but have not seemed to have found the right length to place on the door. I like the looks of them and the handle size. They would be more sturdy of a door handle if I mounted them well. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone has some good suggestions.

Tom,
Ragusa makes a couple of style door handles ..
http://www.ragusarv.com/
look under exterior products..even though it is interior to the door.

Rob,
Is that an external handle meant to be fitted to the wall of the coach to
assist with entry to the coach as I see it is to be installed vertically.

Sir: You might be a redneck if you have 2 metal towell racks mounted inside for grab handles. You could cut them any length.

Peter,
Yes, it goes on the outside wall opposite the hinge.
I reckon we should have them engraved with "BUGGER OFF!" ;-)

I like that idea, Rob. Maybe I should have had that put on ours instead of getting the standard one:

Carl,
Good thing you didn't, you'd have to interpret what it meant! ;-)
Thanks for the photo link.

Maybe so, Rob...but I think most of us "Yanks" are, at least, somewhat familiar with that expression.
