Fellow GMC MH Owners -
It has always struck me as odd the way the dual gas tanks are configured.
Does anyone know why they didn't go with a traditional dual tank, dual
filler approach? The system has everything that a dual tank truck system has
except the dual filler. Has anyone ever added another filler and completely
separated the tanks from each other? If anyone has a filler setup from a
parted-out coach, I might be interested.
Thanks,
Brian Gleissner

This was designed to look more like a car and not like a camper.
As they say, they compromised function for looks.
If you fix things correctly, it will work well, but not as good as
seperate tank.
There are people that have run out of gas as they forgot about the aux. tank.

Thanks Jim - I'm just so use to a dual tank system on a pickup truck that
it seems so odd that the GMC MH would be set up this way. Dual pickups, a
Transfer Switch, One Fuel Gauge, One Filler, go figure ! I need to drop my
tanks to attend to a gas leak anyway, I'll do the dual filler if I can find a
donor.

Yes, I went out on a Black List call last fall where someone ran out of gas. He did not realize it was empty and did not try the aux tank.

Brian,
I can relate to what your saying, I sometimes feel stupid eating rice
at a GMC Convention with a fork and wanting to look for chopsticks to
use.
Seriously, one can install a filler by the rear wheel opening for the
rear tank and install the elbow to the first tank, be sur to attach
the vent to the neck.
