Need help! I'm removing the old Dometic but after measuring, it's the same depth as the distance across the hall to the wall. How much does one of these weigh? Can one manhandle it alone?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Emery is right. They are more bulky than heavy. An extra set of hands might help protect the surrounding cabinets though. A small two wheel dolly might come in handy too.

If you will remember Roger, that is how I broke my foot. I had two of us manhandling the thing at the time. I was in a cast for 2 months. My daughter and a friend had to re-install the replacement for me so I could go to the Eastern States rally in Elkhart that year.
Get a helper when you actually pull it out. The table is also a good idea.

To remove my fridge as a one man job, I fabbed a table out of plywood which I mounted on the top of my floor jack. This allowed me to slide the fridge out onto the table and lower it to floor level where I could deal with it. It also made installation easier.

All these suggestions are good; just remember that when moving any furniture anywhere, it is best to have help so walls and corners are not marked up with sudden moves.

That Birchhaven I worked on last summer had a narrow opening for the refer and I had a heck of a time getting it out of the cabinet. I widened the opening afterward so I could slide it back in.
And those wires you mentioned - what a mess. Those are the wires for the monitor panel, and they didn't bother to trim any wires. I believe they could have moved the panel clear up to the front end without adding any wiring. I built a shelf above the refer to hold those wires.

Roger, you better have someone helping you or we won't be seeing you at Patterson. The thing is hard for one to manhandle. I am thinking you need to at least have Noah out there with you so he can push and shove a little. Getting it out the door will be a booger for one man. Been down that road. Listen to Ken B.
