I've just sent out the schedule of events for the subject rally. It
includes the newly scheduled TH425 overhaul seminar by Bill Bramlett. Stick
Miller's been having some transmission problems, so Bill has agreed to
arrive early for the rally and teach us how to overhaul one.
Beginning at 0900 on Wednesday, 9 March, in my home workshop, we'll tear
down one of the 3 spare 425's I've cleaned up in preparation. Under Bill's
tutelage, Stick, I, and perhaps others, will turn wrenches to disassemble,
examine, clean, repair, replace, etc., the parts to put the transmission
back into first class condition.
We're ordering overhaul kits for two transmissions so that during or shortly
after the rally, we can also do a second one as a spare. Or, time,
personnel, and ambition permitting, we may even R&R Stick's transmission --
with my rack and all the tools on hand, that should be a pretty quick and
educational operation.
Hopefully Richard Sowers, a professional videographer and photographer will
be able to attend and record the entire procedure for posterity. If not,
we'll be pressing "volunteers" into service. Hopefully someone will bring a
decent video camera; if not, photos will have to suffice.
If you can possibly make it, this will be a great experience. Just let me
know ASAP so I can put you on the distribution list and bring you up to date
on other plans, like the BBQ dinner. :-)

Tempting, indeed. Makes me wish I was totally retired instead of halfway so.
