Folks, I just picked up this little gem at Frys for $45 today. The beauty of it is it's simplicity. No Moving Parts, No Cassette, No CD player. Just an Aux, USB, and SD card slot.
I installed it tonight. Just pop in an SD card and it plays it just like a CD.
The only drawback is that I was hoping I could connect the IPOD with the USB cable so it would charge while playing, but no dice. You have to use the Audio jack, so you need to buy a patch cable.
With the SD card and USB drive simplicity, I may not use my IPOD much with this thing.
It has a set of Line level RCA preamp outputs, so I will be connecting up my AMP and better drivers. For now, It runs the two tinny speakers in the light panels just fine.

That's just what I was looking for, to many ruined CD's in my vehicles. I
just picked one up on Ebay for $36.99 including shipping. Not to bad, they
had some used ones on there but for the price difference I decided to go new

those.

I think this is what I need. My CD player cooks my CD's and must suck a lot of electricity. If I use it when dry camping it will be a big load on my batteries. Also, when the present player is hot it does not eject the cd sufficiently to pull it out with short fingernails; I used needle nose pliers. I have a portable cd player that I can plug into the AUX input if I have to. Any idea how much the unit draws in watts or amps?

that is really cool. I did a similar install ( at 2x the cost;>( just to
get the USB and audio input, and a remote for the coach and steering wheel.

Mine did not have an SD slot ;>(
I now record all of my music,Pandora, Podcasts, books, etc into MP3 streams
that are already "shuffel" stored, ( so I don't get tired of albums)
what a great relief to carry my audio on thumb drives, on the road, or at
home.

I have a nice Kenwood with a USB input and an AUX input. I ripped every decent CD I have, about 20, and put it on an USB drive with NO compression. CD quality, NO skipping and scrolling artist and track information.
It even has a remote 
I have a Sirius radio for the AUX port.
It also has bluetooth so I can make phone calls through the stereo while driving
