Formula 1 just never caught on in USA.
Are there any American drivers?

Re: the video, I've heard of Red McCombs.

No American drivers. A few years ago, Red Bull tried Scott Speed for
a couple of seasons after he won a national competition, but he
didn't make it. They are the 2010 manufacturer's and driver's
(Sebastian Vettel) champion.

Chris is Walt Taylor's son. We haven't heard much from Walt in the past
couple of years but before that he was very active on GMCNet. They're the
ones who commonly tow a 10,000# trailer with their GMC, hitting race tracks
all over the country with the Mazdas they build and race.

Article about the new track in F1 Magazine. The track is due to be finished in 2012. While they haven't announced a date yet, Hellemund was hinting at late summer or early fall. The Canadian GP is mid June of this year, with a two week spacing until the next race in Spain. That would be tight but there have been other races run a week apart.
The last F1 in the States was Indianapolis several years ago.
The track is expected to have several interesting sections including a quick uphill at the end of the front straight. Should be very interesting.

Just wondered how many would recognize Walt's boy and the world famous maker of the "gmcers' label in another genre; so, really GMC related, not just pushing f1. Ken H & Bdub got it. But, then again, they don't miss much.

You all ought to have the www.gmcers.org decal on your back window.
