Along with the other items I need to repair on my GMC, the washer fluid pump appears to be shot.

This is a '76 Royale.

Is there a comparable pump I should be looking for or is this a fairly generic item?

NAPA has a generic kit for about 20 bucks that adapts easily.

Thanks

I picked up a washer tank from a minivan that has two pumps on it. (One for the front wipers, and one for the rear.) It holds more fluid and will fit. I will plumb one pump to each side of the windshield. No pics as I haven't installed it yet.

Gary,

Unfortunately the link doesn't work it just takes you to the Napa home page.

http://www.napaonline.com/

No big deal you just have to enter Windshield Washer Pump into the Search
block and click on Go.

It will ask if its for a specific vehicle and if click on NO then 95 pumps
will pop up!

If you have the original in your hand you can compare them.

I used the NAPA Balkamp 665-1598. I will have to remove the cap and drill out the hole to a little larger size. About 1 1/4 inch IIRC. Then insert the pump in hole. I used some silicon caulk to seal in place.

works very good for an OEM replacement

Thanks Rob,
When I bought my replacement I just had to drill a couple of mounting holes
in the lid of the washer container. Did you escape the typhoon a couple of
weeks ago?

Gary,

Thanks for asking, the cyclone hit land in far north Queensland and did not
affect us here in Sydney other than getting a fair amount of rain.

Queensland can't catch a break, first it was the horrific floods then the
cyclone.

The flooding is effecting other areas of Australia and isn't over yet.
