Dan,
Keep in mind that we pull the True track off the coach as we have not
yet finalized the unit to work with the reaction arm kit.
Get us some feedback on that.

I really appreciate him listening to my concerns all week. He told me one of the hardest parts of the reaction arm is drilling the 4 holes through the frames. When I hit the brakes a little hard the rear end squats, not bad, but one notices it. I can now ride the bumpers of those old people that pull out in front of me.

Dan,
Did you say you got the coach aligned in Vacaville?
How did that work out?

John, I bought the Hubler because it was available and is new. I can get parts and fix it, if a bearing goes out, myself. I did not buy it for any improvement in my driveablity. They had my coach already driving as good or better than a new one when I left Applied GMC in 08. I had 30k on my bearings. It was time to check them. I had the zerks so twice in 30,000 miles I shot 2 squirts of grease in them. They were still tight when the guys pulled them off. I did not need a Hubler, I wanted a Hubler. The coach drives fine with the new frontend. The front wheels are now even with the back ones so ruts really are no longer noticed. I have not towed the car yet but will tomorrow or Sunday and I can tell you more then. Now, I have 2 dodge wheels, like Carl's, that will go on the market. Don't need them now so will get them out of my basement. I had planned to put them on front to offset the front to match the back.

Thanks for the front end info Dan. It seems like the way to go for the future and parts availablity, not to mention the robust components and the sound way to widen the track from an engineering perspective.

WD0AFQ wrote on Thu, 10 February 2011 20:58 | John, if you saw the blog I had a picture of old bearing and the new. The new one looks massive compared to the Toronado bearing.
I felt this to be the best way to go with our coach. Many of the GMCers are real mechanics and don't mind messing with the old bearings. I am not a real mechanic. I can change the new bearings though if I have to. This is what will work for us.

Dan,
My 2000 1-ton Dodge Chassis/Cab has that same type of sealed, unitized bearing on the front axle:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=37694&title=dune-trip-camp-2010&cat=5523
It weighs about 10,000 lbs and has over 90,000 miles on it. I check them frequently, but have never had any kind of problem with those bearings. They will last a looong time on your GMC.
