Was wondering how our Tulsa lunch bunch are doing. I feel for ya!! After doing 15 driveways we recieved 2 more inches. AND I got a new job. Roof shoveler. You haven't lived untill you've raked 14 inches of snow off of 2 houses and 3 garages, incase more snow comes it won't crush your GMC or grandkids!! Well, hope you're all doing well in Oklahoma,,,,PL

Well, it's pretty miserable in Oklahoma Cty, as well!
THere's not QUITE as much snow here as in the NE part
of the state. Wife and I finally finished chipping
ice and clearing the driveway yesterday afternoon
around 1600 from last Tuesday's blizzard and now
there's 5+ inches more out there again and it's still
snowing!
My boat at Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma is one of the
hundreds that are now under the hundreds of collapsed
docks up there where they got over 15" last week and
many areas have already gotten another 12" already today.
The Money Pit is currently at a local tire, brake,
and frame shop having its brakes redone. At least
it's not in the driveway where I would have to shovel
around it!

If your GMC is outside with 15 and then 12 inches. Even if it was the "colder" and light fluffy snow instead of Warmer heavy wet snow, I wonder how much weight that would be. At 20 pounds per shovel, and 200 shovels to clear the top of one,,,,ouch. Thats 4000 pounds. OR More, maybe lots more,,,,,,PL

Yesterday evening on the news there was a brief clip of a weather reporter somewhere in the snow belt doing their usual reporter thing... what caught my eye was the man lift over the guys shoulder in the background lifting a snow blower on the roof of a house!
Wow - now that's some snow!!

With the wind as it is here, unless there
is some sort of higher object near the GMC
the GMC will be the windbreak that gives
up its snowload to form a drift nearby!

We live in the California of Canada - green all year round and snow on the
surrounding mountains - well almost!!!
Some refer to us as "Cheeseheads" others the "Frozen Chosen". Then many
live by the myth of "Global Warming".
So bring your Coaches out west and enjoy the ride.

I seriously doubt that it's in Iowa!
Folks are driving on the left side of
the road. I believe that the only place
where that pic could have been taken
with that much snow is years ago in
northern Sweden when they still drove
on the left side.
They changed over sometime around 1970.
I was in Germany at the time!

I lived in Vancouver for 34 years then moved to California.

Mac,
Good catch!
I don't think it is Sweden as that switch over occurred in 1967 because the
cars look too new:
Dagen H (H day), today mostly called "Högertrafikomläggningen" ("The
right-hand traffic diversion"), was the day, 3 September 1967, on which
traffic in Sweden switched from driving on the left-hand side of the road to
the right. The "H" stands for "Högertrafik", the Swedish word for
"right-hand traffic".
Here's a link to the Wikipedia entry regarding the countries that currently
drive on the left.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-_and_left-hand_traffic
There are a few listed where you could get snow that deep!

Looks like a doctored photo to me. Look at the proportion of the trees sticking up out of the snow as well as the shading that indicates the snow is significantly higher closer to the road. I think you have a road cut through some canyon that someone photoshopped the snow onto and then squeezed the road tighter (see the cars at the top of the frame that seem to be in a very tight line way too close to the bank).
Thanks,
