And if you loose a rear wheel DO NOT let them lift the rear end and tow it backwards. This asinine move cost my insurance company not only numerous tow charges but a new (rebuilt of course) transmission.

That is, beyond any doubt, the dumbest thing that has ever been
written about the GMC.
Without the motor running, you can't stop it or steer it.
Hopefully, you would crash it before
you set the tranny on fire and burnt it down. And there it goes,
out over the internet.

Gary,

AGREED!

"Secure the straps and any tow mechanisms PROPRIETARY to the tow truck."

HUH?

"Run two 6-inch nylon tow straps to the tow hooks under the front bumper on
the GMC rig. Use the metal tow hooks to attach to the hooks."

I've been under The Blue Streak and Double Trouble COUNTLESS times and never
seen the tow hooks! Could someone PLEASE tell me where they are! ;-)

I have been referred to many e-how answers through google searches... It
seems to me that many of the answers are programmatically generated. I
wonder how many of those people are real, or are they just personas to
create credibility.

As a random example, see these two articles which were written by "a
contributor". Note that these two trucks have the same engine and injectors
but have slightly differing wording. The article numbers are sequentially
adjacent... yeah, that is likely!

Not a bad attitude for most advice found on the Internet. Most of the advice is worth exactly what you paid for it... or less.
