Donny and Alonzo have been very busy on our coach. Here is the link to the pictures I have snapped. This is going to be really good when we drive out of here. Glad we decided now is the time for all disc braks, reaction arm, and new Hubler front end.

Life is real good,

Hi Dan, nice pictures and you are in a wonderful place; Jim K and his boys are the best! Your coach will be the envy of all of us.
Best to you,

Hi Dan, nice pictures and you are in a wonderful place; Jim K and his boys are the best! Your coach will be the envy of all of us.
Best to you,

Thank you most kind sir. I am number 14 to have the reaction arm. One was done just before we got here. These 3 things are certainly not a necessity and not everyone needs to do this. Teri and I use our coach a lot. We do not take 100 mile trips in it. When we pull out of our driveway our neighbors know they will not see us for a few months. I like the idea of being able to stop at any garage or GM place to get parts and/or have it worked on. I am no mechanic. I hate working on drum brakes and do not realish the idea of using my bearing puller. Now, I can work on my own brakes and change all of the bearings right in my own driveway. This is good. Many GMC owners are real mechanics and do not mind working with the old drums and front bearings. I wish I was like that but I am the guy that dreads greasing my frontend for a week. I know how dirty I get with grease everywhere. 10 minute job but messy.
My life will be much less stressful and I won't have to be sneaky when the brakes fail so Teri does not know.
Dan

Dan,

We met the people that put the reaction arm on just before you. They are a young couple from California that attended the Saguaro Jetset rally in Casa Grande. They installed the reaction arm set-up themselves in Jim's lot. They are on a year-long trip around the country and will be blogging about it. I know they participate in this forum, so I'll let Paul fill us in on the details whenever he is ready.

Once you drive away from Fremount and get the feel of things I'd be
interested in your reaction to the brake reaction arm. BTW, I'm stealing
your photos.

Dan, there's a dead photo on you blog. How about relinking for us or upload
it again in an update?

Byron, you are not stealing the photos, I gave them to you and everyone else when I uploaded them. The dead photo is the one of the old rear brakes so I uploaded it again right below the broken one. I just forgot to take the old one out before I published.
You know I will be broadcasting what I think of the brakes. I will give as honest an opinion as I can. I will be comparing them to my old brakes when my old brakes worked good, not when I drove in here with very little brakes. The only guy on this forum with a bigger mouth than me is Rob Mueller. *D*an,

Once again, following your exploits with great interest and anxiously
awaiting your first hand field reports on your latest upgrades. I expect
you will be really amazed and happy with them. And you probably have the
best "VINTAGE" GMC techs around doing the work.

Good Luck and keep us informed!

LOL, can't wait to see you at Patterson. Glad you could change your plans and be there. I have been so involved in this GMC stuff I have not ordered the tappet cover gaskets for our vdubs. Will try to get on that soon.
