I spoke with one of you gentlemen regarding a new PD power converter.
I have done a little research on these items and a new converter and
fuse box and pretty much a complete new electrical cabinet. How
difficult was it to wire this all up and would it be functional enough
for a gmc with TV, microwave ect, basically the works. Not to sure
what is required to make all this work correctly. Basically what is
recommended for optimal performance.

John,
Your message makes the problem seem much larger than it is: The converter
is a one-for-one replacement for your old one (perhaps the original "buzz
box"?). The possible exception to that is that some older converters had
the DC circuit fuses inside so when you install a Progressive Dynamics unit,
you'll need an external fuse panel. But even that can be a one-for-one
movement of the wires from the old converter.
Neither the TV nor the microwave requires anything from the converter --
they're all 120 vac powered. The water pump, refrigerator control circuit,
furnace, and most lights will be powered from the converter -- they all use
12 VDC.
In 12+ years, I've never found a need for more than a 40A converter. I
highly recommend the PD9245, available right now for $149 at
http://www.progressivedyn.com/hotdeals.html
Don't be concerned about the "refurbished". The current popularity of PD
products with GMCers stems largely from Progressive Dynamic's insistence on
replacing my failed (and easily personally repaired) "refurbished" unit with
a new one long after the warranty expired -- that was about 5 years ago.
