A while back there was some chatter about putting a 3rd brake light
across the back above the window. Well, I just came across one of
those lights from A Cad Esclade and I can't find any of the e-mails or
pictures. Can anyone help me??.............Terry

I installed a Cadillac Escalade third brake light on my coach but it is one of the few projects that I didn't document. However if you need help just let me know. Bill carguybill@sbcglobal.net

How does it work with the brake/turn lights??
Only with brake lite or does it also interact with the turn signals also.

this is the easy way to get the wire up there
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=4653

and you can catch both turn wires in the driver side tail light
then
use the 3rd brake light sold by scott to do the brake light

Enquiring minds want to know about the little module and whether it allows the third break light to act as a directional signal too.

nope the light is one large light, no division between r and L.

the module just lets the middle light come on with stop lights and not the
blinkers

Who was the guy that several of these 3rd eyes for sale? I'd like to get one if the price is right.

Does the installation interfere with the visibility of the clearance lights? From the photos it looks as though the 3rd eye blocks them slightly when up close.

When I got mine there was a guy selling them on e-Bay for, as I recall, $35.00 plus shipping. He had some that had slight damage on the ends but most, like mine, were factory fresh. At the time I had the feeling that he must of found a supply of these that "fell off the truck." Now, of course I wish I had purchased at least one more for a backup.

I don't think my Escalade light blocks any of the clearance lights, at least from a distance back. I positioned my light such that the clearance lights were visible and the angle such that the light was most bright about 100 feet back from the coach.

A couple of photos at http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=37366&title=3rd-brake-light&cat=4630

Bill,
Your photos give me a much better view of the installation. I can clearly see that if the 3rd eye is mounted low enough, there is no problem seeing the clearance lights.

Thanks,
