Teri and I left Rob's at noon and rolled in here about 430 pm. No one is parked in the "GMC circle" spot. We are at mm 99 on the west side of the road.
Life is good,

Dan, Teri,

We may not make it to Q until Sunday now. We are going out to a show in LA for Joe's BD. Gonna see "Hair" and will not be home until after midnight. So decided it might be best to just stay another day. Besides, the grandson and I are having a lot of fun hunting rabbits on the Golf Coarse. They are a huge problem here and we are thinning out the herd. The sound of gun shots is like a dinner call for the coyotes. Nothing goes to waste here....the coyotes eat the ones we shoot. Leave them lay...they are gone the next morning.

Oak Quarry in Riverside CA is one of the most beautiful courses I've ever seen...set in a granite quarry in the the foothills of Riverside county. The signature hole (#14) is a Par 3, 214yd hole running next to the quarry lake. Lake is over 100 ft deep. You tee off facing a solid white granite wall. No fairway for the first 100yds as it plunges down into a canyon leading to the lake. You have to play it to the right. A lot of lost balls in that canyon. Each hole is hidden from the others as it winds through the canyons of the course. It takes 4 1/2 hours to play the full 18. It is a public coarse and fee is pretty reasonable. If you are a golfer and get into the Riverside area, try this coarse....you won't regret it. See this web page.

See ya on Sunday!

Of course, FEEDING the coyotes just adds to their
survival rate and will lead toward an infestation
of coyotes!

I was thinking the same thing as Mac. Yall should eat those rabbits and starve the coyotes.
We will be back Saturday evening from Havasu. Heading up to a VW rally there early in the morning for the day.
Lots of bargains here Gary. Did you see the m&ms I got? And, there are some cheap leds here. Buy the cheap ones from China and you will buy our's next year. We do have some really good deals on leds this year but they are made in Phoenix, not China, and carry a lifetime warranty.
See yall when you get here.

Truly. That course is just around the corner from me.
(Indian Hills CC and Jurupa Hills CC are just around the
other corner.) One wouldn't know the beauty of it just
passing by it. Interestingly enough (for anybody who cares),
just across that ridge of rocks to the west in Pyrite Canyon
is California's largest and longest lived Superfund site -
Stringfellow acid pits (and a great Pick-A-Part). Oh yes, we
have tourist attractions even here in West Riverside :-)

I wouldn't advise playing it today - winds out here are
gusting up to about 50 mph. I just lost another large limb
on a silver dollar eucalyptus. Golf balls would become
low-orbit satellites today.

Sierra Avenue running by the golf course is my closest and
most accessible test course for driving my GMC after
fixes/mods, etc. Nice long pull up a substantial grade and
nice scenery along the way.

Toby,
We are headed to LA at about 5:30 today, and will be around tomorrow. If you have time, stop and see us. We are parked in the parking lot of the coarse maintance shop on 34th st. Go north on 34th past Nueva Vista High School about 100yds on the right. You will see our coach in the parking lot next to the shop. If the gate is locked call me.

Only about half the street vendors here so far. I don't know if more will show up next week or what. Twice as many motorhomes for sale, by dealers, than last year. My favorite candy vendor says things are way down. I don't know what that means. We will see if folks start rolling in here next week. If not, I see some bargains happening.

Obviously the coyotes are too well fed or there wouldn't be so many rabbits. Usually Mother Nature balances these things. Maybe it's time for a coyote/rabbit cull.

From what I am seeing it is not as busy as last year. Tyson Wells is crowded but Main Event isn't. The camp ground I'm in in Blythe didn't fill up. I was at the Blythe bluegrass festival today and there are a lot of empty RV spaces, this has been full each year in the past. Also not as many people at the event. Posibly the bad weather this year kept some folks home.

Tyson Wells is only full to lane P/O. Not near as many vendors as last two years there yet. I hope more show up.
Ok Bob, the Big Tent opens on the 23rd and runs thru the 29th, I guess. I think Teri and I will take off for California on Monday the 31st. Nothing is carved in anything except Jello. Just keep me posted. You might have to either visit with Teri or come help me sell LEDs in the Big Tent if you stop on 27th.
It was 76 here today. tonight is very warm. I am liking this. We have not used any heat since we got here.

Well, we are on our way. We left this morning from Manteca, CA. I'm in
Santa Clarita, CA right now. The plywood flooring above my driver's
side muffler caught fire as I pulled into the Flying-J at the top of
the Grapevine (long hard pull as I'm towing the Scion xB instead of
the buggy). Burned a big hole in the floor and carpet. Thought I was
going to lose it. Used the window cleaning sponge at the gas station
to put the embers out. Had to cut out a big chunk of carpet to get to
the smoldering stuff underneath. I'm going to take the MH to a
muffler shop tomorrow so they can install some shielding over both
mufflers. I also think my alternator has gone out. When I arrived at
the RV Park, both coach and chassis batteries read 10.2 volts. Will do
some checking in the morning. Wife says it's time to get an Alfa See
Ya. Might make it there tomorrow, but probably sunday. Still plan on
being there until the 26th, then on to NM. Love these LED lights from
the Dollar Tree...

Gary,

Make sure you do not have a hole in the top of the muffler where the hole burned in your floor. Dan had a similar occurrence on his coach a few years back. We installed a metal shield on the bottom of the floor over the top of the muffler. Later coaches like my 1976 have a sheet metal piece on the bottom of the floor over the mufflers.

Hey Gary, If you are going to burn that baby down, don't do it in a gas
station. <Grin> Sorry to hear of your troubles but glad you caught it in
time. It is amazing how much heat is handled by the exhaust system. Any
where the exhaust runs closer than 2" to a combustible material, a metal
heat shield is a good idea. They can develop some very annoying harmonic
noises, particularly if they touch anything lightly.
