Brian,

Are you talking about the wire way cover?

Look here http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=9844&cat=3843

I have some short sections of the cover --- where are you located and how long of a piece do you need?

Brian

Sorry, I don't understand.

The wires in my 73 exit from under the wire way cover in a flexible wire cover and then to the fixture. The flexible wire cover is available at auto parts stores and in limited colors at Lowes or Home Depot.

Slight shift in the topic here.
I'm looking at replacing this plastic molding that I would term a trim piece and others are calling a wire cover in the main cabin. It has seen better days.
Most likely some one else has done this using a wood trim.
Any recommendations, or advice?

I think I know the wire molding you are talking about. In my PB i have the same moldings. Maybe try Gemrecs. I think the only place you will find them is from a parted out coach.

Brian, The cover you show in your album is 3" wide Panduit. It is available from a number of suppliers but you won't find it with the rib down the middle method of attachment. The current stuff has lips on either edge that may snap over the edges of the aluminum channel. Fit is very tight. Google Panduit or check the sites mentioned by Mr. ERFisher in his post,

my wires come out of the bottom of the conduit inside the overhead cupboard, then down the back of the cupboard and connect to the lights. These wires running down the back are protected by a white moulded plastic piece which screws to the back of the cupboard...I need one of these moulded pieces...Brian 77ele

I think Brian is looking for some short (about 10") vertical moldings that are inside each cupboard which covers the wires running down to the light on the bottom of the cupboard... not the large long horizontal molding. I have these in my 77PB and maybe they were not in all or earlier coaches.

These moldings would be GMC specific and hard to find so I suggested Gmerecs.

Failing that, Panduit and others make plastic wire raceways and corner moldings. I'd suggest going to a local electrical wholesaler with the coach so you can try different plastic moldings and see what you can come up with.

Also on that page under 'Interior Materials'; the referenced Wilson art laminate 'Valley Pecan P361A-60' is no longer available (discontinued).

Here's my in-a-hurry method. The main face plate is 1/4" birch-faced plywood
with a sanded edge. To make it fit tight up against the headliner, I wedged
a 1/4 x 1-1/4 "base molding" behind the upper edge. It's all held in place
with a few screws (carefully!) installed into the upper extrusion with
finish washers. If you want a more finished look, wrap the plywood piece
with fabric.

Heh. It sure looks like it from the outside!

It sure looks better in pictures than in the flesh, but at least it's not an
embarrassment. I remember the coach when we bought--everything behind the
refer was wasted space. I might as well have had a truck camper.

From the outside, though, it's still an embarrassment. I keep buying lotto
tickets, though.
